Assessments

Real questionnaires on trauma, OCD, mood and more. Free, and nothing is saved.

I've spent a long time working on myself. Most of what's on this site is that — reading, writing, trying to make sense of things. These questionnaires are another way in. A number to start from. Not an answer, just somewhere to begin.

These assessments are published in research, used in clinics, and free. I didn't make them up, and each page says where it came from. They won't tell you who you are, and they won't tell you what to do. But they might help paint a picture of where you're at.

They're not a diagnosis. And they're not labels. Take them with a grain of salt. No questionnaire is going to capture your experience. And if they aren't helpful, that's ok too.

Nothing is saved. No account, no login, no database, no cookies. I never see your answers. Take one, get your number, close the tab. Done.

I wrote more about why I put these together here.

Start with Whichever Sounds Like You

  • Childhood adversity (ACE) — if you're wondering whether your childhood shaped any of this. 2 min.
  • Obsessive-compulsive load (OCI-R) — if you can't stop thinking about it, and can't tell whether it's real. 3 min.
  • Assertiveness (Rathus) — if you can't speak up for yourself. 5 min.
  • Attachment style (ECR-R) — if closeness feels more complicated than it should. Coming soon.
  • Shame (OAS) — if you're harder on yourself than you'd be on anyone else. Coming soon.
  • Low mood (PHQ-9) — if you feel flat. Coming soon.
  • Anxiety (GAD-7) — if you're wound up most days. Coming soon.
  • Thought suppression (WBSI) — if you fight your own thoughts and wonder whether that backfires. Coming soon.
  • Porn and compulsive use (PPUS) — if you're not sure whether your use is a problem. Coming soon.
  • Attraction and orientation (Klein) — if you want to see what your attraction is actually made of. Coming soon.

Most of these are still being built. The ones without a link will be up over the coming weeks — I'll say so in the newsletter as each one goes live.

If any of it was useful, I write about this every week.
